Does anyone teach an ethics course that could offer some advice? My colleague is teaching our newly added ethics course this year. It is 9 weeks long and the state has no standards to go along with it, so he has to start from scratch. If you are able to offer any suggestions for how you layout your class, what you teach, what works/doesn't work, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
I would suggest looking at the skills for example: Inductive/Deductive reasoning, writing (argumentative, narrative, etc..), logical fallacies. When we wrote our Contemporary Issues course we looked at how this course was combining the standards in other subject areas as well as those in SS. I noticed the date on this message but thought it might help anyway! Good luck!
I actually have a link to our Contemporary Course.. It has the PA standards listed. If your colleague is interested in the link let me know and I will post it..
