In Chapter 11 Diane sums up the lessons learned from recent reform efforts.  What were your best "Ah-hah" moments and lessons learned from this book? what are your final thoughts after having read it.

My ultimate Ah-ha moment is that we as teachers need to celebrate what we do, but also we need to be more public about our successes.  We cannot hope to hide quietly in our classrooms while such specious criticisms are leveled against us and come out unscathed.  We need to exercise our voices.  

I also think that unless the economy improves soon, this will be an uphill battle.  While our work as teachers is often ridiculed, more often than not these comments are more of a tax revolt than a real anger at teachers.
