I was planning on getting a classroom set of newspapers each day. It is my hope to get students into what is going on in the world around them. Does anyone have any ideas of what I can have students do as a daily bell ringer with the newspaper??

Thanks :)

5-7 minutes of reading the newspaper (length of time depends on your class time) then an oral recount of what they read.  Try focusing on different topics on different weeks, such as breaking it up by region, or by topic, etc.  Everyone will read something, only call on a few and mix it up so by the end of the week, everyone's spoke up in class.
