Edmodo Help

Anyone who has done Edmodo is there a way to block students from sending alerts? I'm okay with them posting notes but I don't want them sending alerts so I'd like to block it.

I created a Student account for myself on Edmodo so that I can see what Students can do and can not do. When I sign in to my student account, there is no Alert Function available. I don't mean to make this sound like I'm the expert, but make sure the student didn't sign up as a teacher.

I watched several instructional videos, but none of them gave instructions to block students from using the alert function.

I have been using Edmodo this year for posting my 6-8grade SS notes for my students. Actually I posted them to livebinders. LB is an online 3ring binder. So all the notes for the entire year I put on there so if students lose their notes they have a way to get another copy. Livebinders is a free site livebinders.com. Once I created the LB I posted the link to edmodo so the students can have access. Also I post discussion questions on there for the students to respond to. I live in rural TN and my kids seem to love it.

Hey everyone. Hope your as excited as I am to start the new school year. I was thrown a curveball this year, going to be teaching both APUSH and AP Macro Economics all while being the district instructional technology coordinator... looking forward to not sleeping this school year.

Ron, I can't seem to get the group code for APUSH on Edmodo to work.  I wonder what i might be doing wrong.

If you are not part of the APUSH Team on Edmodo and want to be, message me and I'll give you the group code to join.

Ron, Don't we need the code to join the APUSH Team Edmodo group?

Carlos Fernandez set up an APUSH Team Edmodo group. Make sure you join that if you teach AP US History. Just another place to share.

Great idea to form a group!

I'm jumping on the Edmodo wagon this year with my students.  Moving away from my blog, hoping to use the program as a hub for information, assignments, and sharing/embedding finished products from our inquiry units.  Set up for AP Euro first but hope to share across grade levels and across classes, so I created a group called History Connection, where I hope to get some good current events conversations going.

Would love to know how you guys use edmodo

Thanks for creating this.  I am curious to learn how best to use Edmodo with the class Google site I have.  I also have had students use GDocs this past year to some extent, and would like to be able to use Edmodo and GDocs together if possible and if worth the time.
